    RS3 8V vs 8P

Absolutely agree John, for now (50k miles soon)...

    RS3 8V vs 8P

Mine's stock 2012 couldn't comment on the 2015 RS3 but we were both at a good cruising speed before going for it so if there are significant performance differences, they are likely to be in the lower ranges. Anyway, my post was more to do with the joy of driving/ownership rather than...

    RS3 8V vs 8P

Coming off the M25 today @ j. 2 and spotted a 2015 grey RS3 cheekily jumping the queue ahead of me to get on to the M2. Ended up right behind him in traffic for about 5 miles heading east and eventually we had clear road ahead. Neither of us having had chance to acknowledge each other, by virtue...

    RS3 Going...

Considering selling mine and upgrading to the 2015 model. I have mid 2012, 44k miles, black, excellent paintwork, full Audi dealership service history, scorpion cat bypass exhaust and EBC brake pads (both of the latter are nice/easy mods commonly used and insurance is OK). Message me for more...

    AMI lightning adaptor for iPhone

Hi DBM - thanks for the info. Received the Tunes2Air from http://www.viseeostore.com/viseeo-tune2air-wma3000a.html this morning - impressive service considering I only ordered it y'day afternoon. Now I just need the car back! I assume that calls can be made via the standard hands-free kit that...

    AMI lightning adaptor for iPhone

Meant that I'll flog the iPod that was previously used in the car rather than the cable, since I can now use the iPhone for tunes in the same way I have for hands-free calling via Bluetooth :-) Model I've ordered is the WMA 3000A. Now I just need the RS3 back from the shop!

    Private Market Value

Similar age/mileage etc, I expect circa £25k. Tempted to got for a similar age TTRS at the mo. Would look at RS4 but it won't fit in the garage!

    AMI lightning adaptor for iPhone

Mate, thanks for the info. Baled out on the eBay purchase of the cable with the yellow tab since I have the same RS3/iPhone 6 combo and have ordered the tunes2air. Seems like a much more convenient solution and I can sell the redundant iPod to cover the cost!

    AMI lightning adaptor for iPhone

That's really good to know, thanks Jay. Now looking into tunes2air - looks like a good system. Can you makes calls via bluetooth/use this system at the same time?

    AMI lightning adaptor for iPhone

Simple question that I should be able to answer for myself but the car is in the shop after I rubber necked a pretty girl for too long and went into the back of someone with a trailer bar. Made a right mess of the rad/grill/air con unit/bonnet/bumper etc and she wasn't all that special. Anywho...

EBC REDSTUFF CERAMIC BRAKE PADS for the RS3

EBC redstuff - highly recommended and I've tried the alternatives. I applied POR clear to my front hubs and regretted it, as they don't look great, although still better than the rusty rear's!

    RS3 Winter Tyres

Hello mate, mine's not chipped, for reference. I noticed something like this occasionally last year but oddly enough not this year and I'm driving the same style, although with all four new MPSS, whereas last year it was a mix of original Contis rear and MPSS up front. You may be right in terms...

    RS3 Winter Tyres

Hello mate, I can recommend Michelin Pilot Alpine (PA) 4 winter tyres, after three seasons of use. They're not cheap but I can't fault them in terms of continuing to provide high performance in adverse wet/cold/snowy conditions in the UK. They show almost no sign of wear either, after a combined...

Scorpion Cat Bypass pipes finally fitted

You were right John, the experts had installed the unit badly with the seal not properly aligned, hence the oil leak. Lithofin oil-ex is taking care of this though. All good again now and redstuff pads bedded in nicely.

Scorpion Cat Bypass pipes finally fitted

Could anyone hazard a guess at the source of an oil leak mid way between the rear axle? Only just noticed the oil on the paving and garage floor and can't get a good look/photo. I'm hoping it's something to do with the recently replaced haldex unit, which places the responsibility back on...

Scorpion Cat Bypass pipes finally fitted

Another update - car has had to have the haldex unit replaced (under warranty but only just) as there was a persistent "weep" apparently. Might be worth getting this checked out...

Scorpion Cat Bypass pipes finally fitted

Quick update on the test drive. Personally, not liking the grey paint job on the demo provided by Coulsdon, roof bars look good though and the overall feel/appearance of the car is familiar but improved. Started off in "auto" mode and quickly changed this to "dynamic" to get the same/similar...

RS3 as a daily driver.... (and insurance for a 21 year old)

I've used the 2012 RS3 as a daily drive for work and kids etc for 3 years and put 40k miles on her. It ticks all the boxes for me, especially discretion on client/dodgy sites and relatively OK economy - about 300 miles/tank, plus the ability to out perform idiots on the road. For 10 miles/day...
