I've got AP shocks and springs on my 3.0tdi Quattro.

I'm fortunate having a steep drive way so when I replaced the thermostat the header tank was higher than the heater matrix so the system bled itself of air. On level ground the top hose for the heater matrix is higher hence air locks.

New thermostat fitted and temp reaches 90 nice and quick and it stays at 90. Heater delivering hot air too so happy days.

Thermostat arrived yesterday, the box says Made in Israel.

If it is adhesive residue then I've found nail varnish remover or acetone works. Use a microfibre cloth for added abrasion.

All I know is the belt snapped but the garage also replaced the tensioner.

Mine went earlier this year 3.0tdi ASB.
