Sorry wreety , didn't realise that you had posted .
If you are after slightly more boost you need to shorten the actuator arm .
Before I did my adjustment I was only getting 6psi in the higher gears . After 2 full turns I am now seeing 11psi.
My advice would be to make small adjustments then...
Right, fitted new N75 vacuum switch and twitched up the actuator arm by another 2 full turns . 13psi in the lower gears , and 11 to 12 in the higher gears with no spiking of the boost pressure .
Happy fella now . Time to get it remapped now .
Brad .
Thanks Matt.
I am adjusting mine this afternoon , and fitting a new N75 vacuum switch.
I was also going to have a look at my throttle position sensor , as the Torque app I use says that I never use full throttle. It obviously doesn't know who's driving .:)
Hi fellas .
After having a damaged , and then fitting a new actuator . The boost pressure feels a little bit lacking .
Since having a blown actuator pipe , I felt what real boost feels like if only up to 3000 revs when the engine would go into limp mode .
Now , I was going to adjust the...
Right , update .
Just been out for a test drive . At first it all seemed a bit flat . Boost gauge only averaging 6 to 7 psi . When engine was fully up to temp I gave it a bit more and something must of cleared itself as it just came alive .
Happy bunny now . Fingers crossed , plan on getting...
Had my turbo actuator rod snap on me a couple of weeks ago so bit the bullet and purchased a Forge MSport one. Bing.
A quick check online said that to position the wastegate in a closed position , then turn the adjuster nut a furthest 3 full turns to take out the slack .
Since its been fitted...
As title really, just about to change a leaking passenger side mount. Has anyone got any tips on what to do, or not to do. It looks a fairly straight forward job.
Brad.
Well I managed to get under the car this morning, and what a PITA. 2 and half hours it took me.
When fitting the worktop bolt the first time, it must of wound in what was left of the actuation rod back into the adjuster, making the rod to short. I nearly lost the thread completely.
The only...
Thanks for that.
I have read a few threads on the subject. But because of the unique way my actuation rod broke and how it's been repaired, it should be a simpler job.
Hi all.
I've managed to sort the problem out, but it was a lot more evolving than I originally thought.
The waste gate actuation rod had actually snapped. So a bit of head scratching, I came up with a plan to repair it.
While removing the N75 valve, if that's what it's called, I managed to snap...
I can't quite make out the connection in that shot, but thanks Al.
I have managed to find a linkage picture, but it's from a Golf, but it does give me an idea of what I'm looking for.
Its going to be fun connecting that back up. I can just about see the waste gate on the back of the manifold. Looks like I will be getting some grazed knuckles tomorrow. Does anyone know what the connection at the waste gate end looks like. Brad.
