Don't know if you are aware but some drilled discs can start cracking around the holes.
Obviously the better brands are less likely to crack but do keep a an eye on them. Never known a problem with the grooved ones though.
I did work out which was the cheapest to run a couple of years ago, when buying a new A3 petrol vs. the diesel version. My conclusion was I would have to be doing 25,000 miles a year to make the diesel A3 worth buying. Real life mpg figures with a dpf fitted and short journeys would not give...
I like your way of thinking Jase. People used to laugh at my Skoda Fabia VRS (derv motor) at track days, was tuned quite a bit, it was the torque that got 'em, 410Ft.lbs
After recent news about Derv's NOX emmisions polluting the cities I'm surprised you want one. I was a keen Derv driver until 2 years ago but I could see how we are all going to be demonised in the future and repairing the oil burners works out expensive thesedays. Unless you are a Taxi...
I like it a lot. Using an old MG ZR for your track weapon is not what most people expect.
I'll look out for you during my tour of the tracks, Silverstone next Friday for moi.
Ebay items are a bit hit and miss and you may have to do extra mods, to actually make them work. Some throw up canbus errors even though they say they are canbus error free. I've bought led's for various cars from ebay and ended up sending them back for one reason or another.
At least with...
Definitely more Audi parts in Germany as Audis are made there. What does help is the Pound is strong against the Euro. Tyres are a bit of a bargain as well.
As you have the engine in bits, why not send the injectors away for cleaning and measuring fuel flow rates.
Lots of companies do this and by mail order as well. They will change the filters and report to you if there are any faulty injectors. Should cost about £20 to £30 per injector.
Have a...
I've found the on board mpg calculator shows no where near the true mpg. Also changed over from Comp1 to Comp 2 and got a completely different average which was actually more accurate.
As said before, calculate the mpg by counting the number litres you put into the tank over a number of fills...
I wouldn't worry about yours, as rambo says, a 1to 2 sec rattle is fine. What you call a rattle could just be the tensioner filling and pressurizing with oil but should only happen when the car has been standing all night. Be worried when you have rattling with a hot engine, thats when a real...
When you have sorted the leak, the footwell will need drying out. My solution was switch the aircon on and let that do the work, taken 2 months so far and the carpets still feels damp. Think I should have lifted the carpet for a while as the sound deadening holds a lot of water.
