Usually I get trackday vouchers and/or a couple bottles of single malt, I'm sorted.

Fitting bigger drilled brake disks - 2.0TDi Quattro

Don't know if you are aware but some drilled discs can start cracking around the holes. Obviously the better brands are less likely to crack but do keep a an eye on them. Never known a problem with the grooved ones though.

im looking for an Audi A4 Avant and want to know which uses a DPF?

I did work out which was the cheapest to run a couple of years ago, when buying a new A3 petrol vs. the diesel version. My conclusion was I would have to be doing 25,000 miles a year to make the diesel A3 worth buying. Real life mpg figures with a dpf fitted and short journeys would not give...

Our non Audi race car (instead of my B7)

I like your way of thinking Jase. People used to laugh at my Skoda Fabia VRS (derv motor) at track days, was tuned quite a bit, it was the torque that got 'em, 410Ft.lbs

im looking for an Audi A4 Avant and want to know which uses a DPF?

After recent news about Derv's NOX emmisions polluting the cities I'm surprised you want one. I was a keen Derv driver until 2 years ago but I could see how we are all going to be demonised in the future and repairing the oil burners works out expensive thesedays. Unless you are a Taxi...

Our non Audi race car (instead of my B7)

I like it a lot. Using an old MG ZR for your track weapon is not what most people expect. I'll look out for you during my tour of the tracks, Silverstone next Friday for moi.

    Stolen wing mirrors

Mirror theft seems to be common on Audis, one of our S3 comrades has had them stolen 3 times so far.

    What fits from other cars

Also fits about 75% of cars ever made. Local SEAT partsman says he sells more Leon splitters to non Seat owners than he does to Seat owners.

He may do complete headlamp units, not sure myself but I guess you already told him what you want.

    Xenon headlight advice

Ebay items are a bit hit and miss and you may have to do extra mods, to actually make them work. Some throw up canbus errors even though they say they are canbus error free. I've bought led's for various cars from ebay and ended up sending them back for one reason or another. At least with...

There is much better Audi kit on ebay.de than over here.

Definitely more Audi parts in Germany as Audis are made there. What does help is the Pound is strong against the Euro. Tyres are a bit of a bargain as well.

    coolant drain plug problem

Clean the plug and the hole as best as you can. Smear some undiluted washing up liquid on both parts and it should slide in a bit easier

Added another audi to the a4 now, but it needs some tlc.

I'm more interested in the Stag! Audis are everywhere. Any photos of the completed Stag project and did it retain the original Stag V8 lump?

    2.0 Tdi 170 Miss fire.

As you have the engine in bits, why not send the injectors away for cleaning and measuring fuel flow rates. Lots of companies do this and by mail order as well. They will change the filters and report to you if there are any faulty injectors. Should cost about £20 to £30 per injector. Have a...

    Rediculous mpg tfsi

I've found the on board mpg calculator shows no where near the true mpg. Also changed over from Comp1 to Comp 2 and got a completely different average which was actually more accurate. As said before, calculate the mpg by counting the number litres you put into the tank over a number of fills...

New wheels not clearing Front calipers

In theory you only need a 3 or5mm spacer. The calliper to wheel clearance only needs to be a couple of mm.

    Timing chain issues.

I wouldn't worry about yours, as rambo says, a 1to 2 sec rattle is fine. What you call a rattle could just be the tensioner filling and pressurizing with oil but should only happen when the car has been standing all night. Be worried when you have rattling with a hot engine, thats when a real...

    Water in footwell

When you have sorted the leak, the footwell will need drying out. My solution was switch the aircon on and let that do the work, taken 2 months so far and the carpets still feels damp. Think I should have lifted the carpet for a while as the sound deadening holds a lot of water.

My audi a4 b7 sline avant

Seems to be a spate of 80 year + drivers ramming shops around here and the one in at a Costa Coffee. Dash cams wouldn't help in that case.
