1,9tdi airbox

Going in for a service monday.so i cleans the airfilter to find this.
What is the padding? is it a sound deadener?
some of mine is missing.has anyone removed it all?
Any airbox mods?

Yeah bit of deadening.

Few cheeky holes front/wing side gives a bit of a grunt to induction.

Id never drill any holes.especially where i live,winters are tough.

I took my foam and mesh out due to all the cr@p that it collects.......the box is a lot cleaner these days.
