Hallo can anyone tell me if the 2.8l V6 1993 Audi 100 engine is 12Valve or 24 Valve . I took off the tappet cover and I only saw one over head cam. but when I went to the agents to get spark plugs and they asked if it were a 24 valve engine
If it's a 1993 model, I reckon it's 12-valve. The switch to multi-valve was around 1997, IIRC.
By the way, the multi-valve is not 24-valve, it's 30, as in 5 valves per cylinder. They're easily identifiable, as the engine cover has "5-Valve" emblazoned across it.
It may well be DOHC, but your question was how many valves it has, and like I said, unless it's got a badge saying 5-valves (per cylinder), then it's a 12-valver.
then there must've been a difference between our engines and your countrie
's. After our chat I went to the garage, they stated that our engines (AAH)
was 24v with Doch
