Hi everyone

I have done a vcds scan after the car seemed to go into a limp mode....... I'm new to the whole TDI thing so haven't a clue what I'm doing!

I think the important bits are as follows:-

1 Fault Found:
000802 - Engine Speed Sensor (G28)
P0322 - 006 - No Signal - Intermittent - MIL ON
Freeze Frame:
Fault Status: 10100001
Fault Priority: 5
Fault Frequency: 8
Reset counter: 40
Mileage: 99293 km
Time Indication: 0
Date: 2017.02.10
Time: 16:57:40
Freeze Frame:
RPM: 0 /min
Torque: 176.0 Nm
Speed: 0.0 km/h
Bin. Bits: 00000001
Bin. Bits: 01000011
(no units): 11.0
Angle: 0.0 °
Readiness: N/A

I think the important bit is the code P0322.

So the first thing I to ask if anyone has any info on how to remove it, I think I know where it is but it looks pretty inaccessible.

I'd really appreciate some help on this

you mean the one thats bolted on the front of the block next to the gearbox and secured with a 10 mm bolt . which engine do you have what year is the car ?
as the one i m talking about is an easy diy swap .

Hi there

Mines an '07 2.0 tdi s-line quattro 170. I believe it's got a BMN engine and the front of the engine looks rammed full of stuff that looks like it'd make accessing an otherwise easy to remove item a real 'mare.

Thankyou for your help- it's appreciated.

change it from below it should be a 10 minute job

Hi again

No chance, I'm afraid. On these cars the whole filter housing , together with coolant pipes have to be totally , or at least partially, removed. So I'm now looking for a thread on just how to tackle that...
