Hi Guys,
Yesterday me and my mrs went for a day out to the new forest. We ended up driving around 280 miles during the day. The car ran beautifully the entire time. After Leaving the new forest, we drove to Chichester to have dinner. On the way back driving down the a3 I noticed the car was lacking somewhat in power, it wouldn't rev higher than 2000 rpm even with my foot planted. I tried changing gear as I thought it might be blocked with carbon, and it threw a tone of black smoke out the back and was fine again. After driving up a bit of an incline the cars power dropped again. At the next services, I turned the car off and checked the engine bay for anything obscure. Nothing was found, so we carried on, as we drove down the a3 the car bogged down massively to a point I knew it was going to cut out. Eventually as I turned off the a3 to go onto the m25 it sure as hell did that. I tried to restart the car and was left in a plumbe of smoke. I tried to turn the engine over, it ran for a second and then killed itself. Sadly the car was then recovered close to my home as we can't get the car on the drive with the recovery truck.
Luckily for me, I've got VCDS. I've plugged it in this morning and got the following fault codes.
Initially I thought it was caused by a faulty turbo (could still be the case). I took the airbox off this morning, and removed the inlet hose, and I could not see oil in the turbo and there was no play. I took off the boost pipe going to the inlet manifold and I can the hose is lined in oil. I checked the oil this morning too and it looked okay, even though it is kinda parked on a slope right now.
Cars going to my brothers garage in the morning but wanted to get your guys opinions if anyones ever had this. I've only owned the car 2 weeks and done 800 miles. Its been running perfectly, I've only filled it up once and got 610 miles to the tank.
