2.5 TDi V6 Timing

Back again with some more questions lol

Ok i am using Elsawin and VCDS to adjust timing however i have some problems with what Elaswin states and what i have encountered.

I get the engine up to temp then using VCDS i go to engine settings and group 4, then i switch to 'basic setting' which makes the engine change sounds. Then i look at VCDS when it cylces through late and early and expect to 0% and 100% in the last box (cold start valve) when it cycles but it only moves between 15% and 85% (cold start valve)

What is this and why is it not opening and closing fully?

Can i still do the timing with these values?

The late cycle shows ATDC value of 5 moves up and down slightly between 4.6 and 5.2

The early cylce shows ATDC value of 12 ish

Am i getting false readings from the ATDC because the Cold start valve is not opening and closing fully?

Do you actually have a problem with the car or looking for one ? If your VCDS is fully registered then you can use the Tdi plugin and the timing will be plotted on a graph !
