Hi I have a 2007 Audi A3 3.2 dsg Quattro..
recently my car starting vibrating hard during acceleration.. the heavier the load the more vibration.. this seems to happen between 35-55 mph.. had a mechanic check the suspension and everything seemed ok with suspension.. we had me drive the car with the wheels in the air.. and around 25 mph the entire car starts shaking.. he told me the suspension didn’t shake but the motor and transmission seemed to be the issue.. wondering is anyone can shed some light on this.. wheels were recently balanced and alignment was done.. the vibration is still there even when coasting in neutral.. steering wheel does not vibrate at any time.. thanks!

Engine, gearbox, dogbone mounts checked?

Not often, but mounts can snap & will be obvious if you rock engine by hand.

had two mechanics check and they didn’t say it was the mounts.. one of them thinks driveshaft assembly issue the other thinks transmission (torque converter) but we don’t have those.. but he said normally on cars with torque converters it would do the same thing.. the one that said he thinks it could be the Trans is actually a close friend of mine.. not sure if I want to dive into how much this might cost.. neither said it could be mounts.. only reason I went to two was my mechanic friend said go to a German specialist and get a 2nd opinion

Engine mounts, prop shaft or drive shafts is where I’d start.

Dsg= no torque converter. Has a clutch pack.

Would a bad dmf still cause the car to shake with the speed of the vehicle and not the rpm of the motor? I still get the same amount of vibration going down hill in neutral at those same speeds

No. What you have is something that is rotated by the engine and affected by speed.

are all the wheels true? Check all the stuff posted above plus drive shafts , prop shaft, tyres

Car was aligned and tires were balanced.. I’ll check the drive line

Well it’s got to be drive train related as it’s at speed and not affected by engine rpm as it was still there in neutral.

Just had the whole driveshaft assembly replaced and still having the vibrations.. they said the vent support bearing was shot.. anything else it could be?

Hi my 2004 3.2 had an issue with bad vibration around 70+ mph , turned out to be front ns inner CV tripod joint.
