Hi, I need some help guys

My beloved RS4 has developed an engine noise.

It's like an alternator or tensioner bearing noise but it's internal.
I suspect it's coming from a worn bearing on the Gear Plate/ Gear Module inside the bottom of the engine (this drives all the pumps on the outside of the engine engine via shafts) or even the oil pump, ( apparently it has a gear driven counterbalance shaft inside it) which are all driven by the auxiliary chain.

I'm looking for a specialist on RS V8's to remove and strip it.

Can anyone suggest a trusted garage?
Thanks

Did you get to the bottom of this? When is the noise most apparent? Acceleration, breaking, turning?

Hi flylife2k
No, its not resolved yet. I'm booking it next week. The noise is only apparent from idle up to just under 2,000 rpm. And I get it reving up, or as it comes down through those revs. I get it stationary even if I depress the clutch. switching the A/C on/off makes no difference, nor does rocking the steering. If I'm driving in any gear its exactly the same.. im sure its related to the oil pump or its drive train as the buzzing can be felt violently on both cooler pipes. I'll let you know how I get on with the garage, and see if they come to a similar conclusion. Then I guess the engine will have to come out........
