Hi guys

I just had my car remapped on the rolling road. The remap was finished when the car stalled out whilst still on the rollers. There was no bang, no smoke, no leaks. A strong smell, like electric or plastic burning and now car won't start.
It just clicks sounding like a dead battery but battery tests fine and all electrics working. The battery terminals were loose though on inspection and both positive and negative cables were hot to touch.

With a spanner on the crank the engine seems seized or moving just a small amount.

The smell seems to be coming from the starter motor

It's one mechanics opinion that the starter motor has seized shut against the flywheel hence not turning over the engine

Another mechanics opinion is jumped/broken timing chain. Car on 132k and unknown if/when replaced.

I just hope it's not a seized engine..

Any ideas?

Check belt, tensioner etc 1st, then if ok, remove starter & try turning engine, see if it moves then.
