I have a 2013 a4 2.0 tdi b8.5 avant

Front drivers side suspension is creaky over bumpy roads and speed ramps etc.
When car is uneven as turning left or right etc it also creaks too.

Had it checked from 3 Mechanics. All 3 have said all suspension arms and bushes etc look perfect

Had drivers shocker changed as one said it was weak.
Still have the same issue.
Any help please

I got odd creaking after getting a stone chip from a resurfaced road caught some where. G took it to two independents and Audi, Eventually it naturally went.

Sounds too bad for a Stone chip or some chippings to get stuck.

Its quite loud.
On the straightt car is 90% fine.
Just creaks when road is bumpy or on a speed hump as you come back down

Had it for about 2 weeks now.
Done about 750 miles. Still the same

I had this once. I loosened the clamps around the antiroll bar bushes and sprayed chain lube grease in them. Sorted

@ChrisF88

Have you had any parts changed at all?

Booboo i might try what you have said.

Its a very annoying creak especially when mechanics say all is perfect and even would pass a M.O.T

Not changed anything yet. Hoping to get a look at the ARB links soon but would have expected the garage to spot any issues with these when they inspected it.

Ive just had the driver side front drop link removed as mechanic suspected that.

Drove car for a mile or 2 without it...same noise still there...so had the drop link put back in.

Is the ARB and Droplinks same thing or 2 different things?

I'll give an answer, the drop links connect the ARB to each of the front suspension "verticals", so to isolate the ARB mounting bushes from causing this noise, both drop links would need to be removed and that would stop the ARB rotating in its mounting bushes while the car's front suspension vertical parts compress/extend. So your ARB mounting bushes are still able to cause noises when only one drop link is removed.

I currently have the same problem been listening to a creaking noise for a few months now first started after jacking up the one side of the car to change a flat on passenger side I’ve had it up on a four poster ramp and it’s a bit dirty under there when the belly tray is taken off you can clearly see the arb bushes but wouldn’t of thought they would creak like that I thought top mounts or a worn bush but couldn’t see anything out of the ordinary no splits I’m going to try some lithium grease or copper grease out of a spray can and see if it stop creaking mines a 2011 2.0 b8 avant estate creaks like a ship going over bumps or up a kerb annoying as hell

Mines seemed to start after being in to have the wheels rebalanced. No idea if it was jacked one corner at a time or not though as I wasn't there.

I wondered if something just hasn't reseated correctly after having all weight off the suspension.

Hi.
Car went in yesterday
Had the Arb links changed at £103 each.
Both sides
Creaking noise still there.

Top mounts are perfect so no issues there.
Took it to a indy audi specialist today.

Gave car a good under body wash today.
Jacked car up passenger side.
All fine he said.
Jacked car up driver side.
All fine he said.
He greased all the rubber bushes etc that he could see..then tried pushing them about to see if any cracks but nothing major. He said all is perfect and nothing needs to be changed.

Since then noise has gone.
Very weird.
Done about 15 20 miles of local driving on bumpy roads and ramps etc.
Noise has gone.

Thanks for keeping us updated.

Hopefully the creak stays away. Looks like I'll be getting the trolley Jack, axle stands and a tub of grease out at the weekend.

What grease is recommended for this?

Just for anyone looking at this at a later date.

I ended up needing an O/S front lower suspension arm replaced and since then the creaking has stopped.

Has this permanently fixed the issue?
