Hey everyone,
So I got the car a couple months ago and yesterday I did a pull with a friend of mine and all of a sudden there was a complete loss of power. I pulled over and tried to see what was going on. I didn't get any lights on the dashboard, no warnings or anything either. I tried to accelerate to merge back in traffic but car had no power at all. I had to completely turn off the car and start it back up again. Now the car is fine but for the last couple month I've had it there was this very slight ticking noise, which I'd been told by an Audi tech was fine. But now is the ticking a bit louder than it was before. Here's a link to a video I took yesterday:

Does anyone here have an idea of what it could be? Some people have proposed it might be a rocker arm that flipped or moved but how could I diagnose such an issue?

Thank you!

what engine?
Sounds like something kicked in as a safeguard and the restart reset it. Possibly over boosting, I’ve had a few vag diesels with sticky turbo actuators that cause over boosting and restart normally cures it temporarily.

It's the 2.0T EA888 Gen3 gasoline engine.

That does sound very trappety to me. I would get it to a specialist and get them to listen to it and check for fault codes. It probably went into limp mode when you had the loss of power. Many reasons this can happen but quite often when the ignition is cycled normal operation is resumed. At the moment the issue may be small, but carry on running it and you could end up with a much bigger problem.
Possible the issue is related to the timing chain these engines have.

That's what I'm planning on doing, I've just had the car flashed to Stage 2 with the downpipe installed as well last Monday and now this happens, great
