Chaps.

In to Audi today with the wife's almost 4 year old S3 saloon to see if we can swap it for something else. Any idea re private sale price just to compare to their no doubt rubbish PX offer? Car is a manual saloon with just under 10k miles and FASH.

Can’t comment on value John, but if I were you I would sell private all day long, mega low mileage, and mint condition (given Fran maintains). Manual very much in demand with some, and rare, especially in saloon.

What is she thinking of going for?.

How are you enjoying the M5 comp?

Note sure mate.
To get an idea I always use the on line price valuation from We Buy Any Car and Evans Halshaw - just to get a feel.
Then I think its fair to expect at least a £grand more from Audi as a part ex.
What are you thinking of getting next ?

M5 ?
You not got rid of the RS4 ?

You can go through the listing process on Autotrader to give you an idea of comparative prices without having to pay any money for the privilege.
Would imagine given the condition and it being a manual it'd hold a decent value

£21k. . . Given its very low mileage. . Although the manual gearbox MAY make it slightly less desirable speculate to accumulate fire it on autotrader

I’m considering selling mine and was looking at around 21-22k with all my mods etc car has 21,000 miles.

Alternatively my just end up stripping it and the px.

wow thought I did low miles, I'm currently on just over 5,000 in 18 months :)

Yeah, when I sold my manual S3 I got that comment from a lot of sports car specialists. However, I did end up selling it to one of them for about £1,500 more than Audi had offered!

I think if the S3 had been in white, I would have kept it longer! As for black, meguiars ultimate compound and poorboys black hole polish are your friends! Along with a DA ;)

My S3 at 5 months old, the poorboys fills and cleans (right side of the video):

As for the Meguires, it's great with a soft pad and a DA....Think this was after it's first long winter 2015-16...Before:

And after...I was happy with the result:

If you are going to town on it, I'd say get a G3 clay mitt and go over it with that first (keep it well lubed), then the meguiars and then the poorboys bh. Top with the wax of choice :) The poorboys bh is only a filler, so will wash out after time.

As for your Mrs doing that, whilst we were away last year the wifes mum came around to check on the house! My cctv caught/recorded her looking at the boot of my car! As I watched the recording via my phone app I thought "What's she looking at"......she had seen bits of crud that had blown off the house roof and landed on my car, she decided to wipe them off with her hand in one long wipe/scrape :wtf: It made me feel sick lol.

I’ll look into a clay mit, I’ve got clay bar which was going to do after my routine wash before polishing and waxing,

Oouchhh made me shiver reading that! Lol told my misses to leave anything on the car don’t try and wipe it off or anything I’ll deal with it from now on, will post a before and after pic of that spot too once I’ve done it cheers again bud for all your useful info!!

That’s a lovely looking car John! Best wheels for it as well...

The manual could either make it more or less desirable, in my opinion if you’re prepared to wait for somebody who really wants the manual then it could be worth more.

My long term courtesy from Audi was a manual S3 Saloon, what a rewarding car to drive.. loved every minute. Can appreciate the power more as the pull drops off and picks back up between changes, feels faster than DSG for that reason.

BUT, YOU’VE SOLD THE RS4?? What?? Why haven’t I heard about this? :O

Hope you stick around, will be a genuine loss if you do lose interest on this site. M5, what a way to go.. an epic machine! I spent a fair bit of time in the new 530d and 520d variants, absolutely stunning car to drive and I’m sure are the comfiest seats I’ve ever sat in. Stunning interior and has a touch screen that retains the ‘old fashioned’ way of controlling infotainment. Running away with myself here, I assume you have the G30?

Really hope to see you at Stafford Audi for the next meeting, would love a ride in that machine of a car ;)

Glad to hear it! I was about to say I doubt it with the engine you’ve got in that M5, but the spy clips of the new RS6 darting around the ring gladly give some evidence there is still a monster V8 under the bonnet.

Fantastic, I will hold you to that ;) Have sat in one last year and it is just a lovely place to be, when my Dad bought his 5-Series BMW weren’t keen to let me take the M5 for a spin, so sit in it was all I got.

So John, how did the visit go to Audi with the S3? Any RS3 in the horizon for the missus?

They had one ordered soon to arrive and we could of course order a new one. Even discounted they were / are expensive now as both were £52k still! Talking with them though and looking around too.

Trade on the S3 fyi was £19k but imho Audi are appalling on trade ins so as I've said before I'd likely never trade a car with them.

That’s a decent offer from Audi on trade in there, considering what they can be like.

Send an email off to Weybridge Vehicle Consultancy, offered the best price by far for my S3 and we’ve sold another car to them since. If you are interested DM me, I will send you the email address to my contact there and my name.
