Hi All,

I have a new to me 2015 C7.5 (I guess) SE saloon with standard Xenons.
When I switch on the lights I see the right hand headlight automatically lowering and then raising again to auto level.
However the left hand (passenger) headlight beam just stays static and does not go through the same movements.

I have the OBDeleven tool, and If i go the to change the headlights to ajustement mode from Adaption mode (using option 9 then channel 011) then the right hand lamp again is the only one to move.

Can anyone else with basic xenons confirm if only one of both ligts go through the movemon on switch on on their vehicle ?

Both lights should move, it’s part of the automatic levelling mechanism.

I did think that was the case. The weird thing is that there are no errors thrown up whatso ever in both Carista and OBDeleven...

Should something at least register as a fault code ?

Perhaps, but would need a Ross-Tech interface and VAG-COM/VCDS auto-scan for in depth diagnostics.

If you don't have that yourself, then have a look on our ASN VCDS Map for someone nearby.

Even if no fault, maybe a software/coding/adaptation issue, if all is well there and no related faults on any module, then it's probably a hardware issue with the headlight itself.

Also, there are specialists who can repair such faults rather than replacing the entire headlight, some even have parts posted to them and returned good as new.
