Hi guys

I still have the on going egr flow fault p0401.
My indie tried to remove the egr and said it's welded in and fears damaging the Cooler which if he did would cost £1200 ish.
He has said it may be an idea to have the car mapped and have the egr deleted at the same time.
Has any one had this done if so any problems after?

Cheers

Better to turn off egr and dpf together.
However I have turned off egr alone in the past and it hasn't caused a issue

Cheers for reply. Ok why both? Why did you do it both ways did you see much improvement once mapped?

Egr is a prerequisite of dpf regeneration it helps regulate both the pressure and temperature .

Getting rid of the dpf will see a genuine mpg gain as it is restrictive causing back pressure .

Without the egr the dpf may block .

Just for reference, I've just had my EGR and Cooler replaced for £750 using genuine parts. This may not be cheap compared to some, but considerably less than the £1,100 you've been quoted.

Thanks for replies loads to think on. Audi sport where did you have that done and was it on a ccwa? Cheers

It was done down here in Dorset by a small independent using genuine VAG parts. What is ccwa?

Ah sorry. I don't know, but my car is a 2010 A4 3.0 TDi Avant Quattro...
