3RD BRAKE LIGHT

Hi all

I need some guidance. Bit of an odd one, but my A3 8P 5 door ,rear top brake light goes off then randomly comes back on again, like today, i parked up against a shop and could see the rear of the car in the reflection. I noticed that the light came on as i was parking up, i then came back to my car after shopping and it wasnt working. Some of you might know what the problem is so any help would be appreciated

Pull the inner trim down, use a trim tool or the like just enough to get to the power to the 3rd light. Use a tester to see if it's constant on the loom to the light, when the brake pedal is pressed. If it is, it will be the light itself. Dead easy to remove the light, compress the plastic to push it back on itself through the boot lid

I didn't bother with that I just used long-nosed pliers and compressed the "things" that hold it in
