8P Audi Stronic Engine Code

Hey guys....
I have audi A3 stronic year-12 built. The engine code on the cam cover aswell as on the ownership papers is caxa but the code on the owner manual sticker is caxc. Any info will be highly appreciated

You should also have a label in the boot, unless the engines been swapped out it should be accurate.

caxa and caxc are essentially the same engine, and the engine and parts attached to it are interchangable between models.
the one fitted to the a1/a3 is caxc, the one fitted to the golfs and skodas is caxa. nothing to worry about.

The 4th letter just refers to which software version it would have CAX being a 1.4 then the A version would have a certain software version giving it X power output and the B a different one and so on. There wasn’t much difference in the versions as long as your first three letters match I wouldn’t worry.

Boot also has caxc label code. Don't know where exactly the engine number on the block itself. Thanks for the info @samisnake
