I'm trying to get into this detailing lark but so far I have only got to the clay bar stage. Got to say I was amazed how much crap my car had picked up over only 4000 miles.

Anyhow, clay barred at the weekend and I'm pretty happy with the results. Now need to polish and seal I guess?

Ryes3. Very nice car, give Autoglym HD wax a try very good wax and wont break the bank.

RYes3, for white you'd be better going for a sealant rather than wax.

Get yourself the Werkstat Acrylic Kit, brilliant stuff and really easy to use.

No mate, a sealent is basically a synthetic wax, where wax contains naturial ingredients. Each has its draw backs and benefits, a sealent would proberly last longer but a wax will give deeper, warmer shine and beed better. You can seal the paint then wax over the top but not the other way round. If you like giveing the car a good clean every couple of months a wax is the way to go in my opinion.

Demon shine cheap as chips but ,gives a great shine..

+1 on daemon shine. I've got 20 litres in a barrel of it all ready mixed :)

Cant beat it on price ,then go over it with carpro reload for months of protection :)

I use it as a quick detailer, gets bugs off, light dust.

Or after a general wash, I'll spray the whole car in it, go over it all with a microfibre and hey presto, no streaks!

Excellent thread....

Anybody recommend any polish.... Not too heavy on the pocket though... cheapest and best will do :)

Autoglym super resin polish is very good.

Very good for filling it light marks etc. I use it fairly regularly, doesn't break the bank either.

It doesn't have any cutting capabilities so it's safe to use if you don't know what your doing!

+ easy on, almost easier off I'd say. Mega easy.

:)

Done with autoglym shampoo, high resin polish and extra gloss protection.

Had a good day scrubbing up Hans.

Started with a full snow foam

Then rinsed, strong mix of APC used to help remove any wax, then washed (2BM) and rinsed again

Blacklight was applied, the wheels also got another coat of jetseal on the faces. Reason was we had to grease the tyres up to help get them on without the risk of marking the rim.

After that it was the usual trims/tyres followed by Purple Haze all over. When I first used it i hated it, but looking back it gave a much slicker finish than my Jetseal or Petes53 (due to the added oils i believe?). The headlights, tail lights and mirror covers were coated in Jetseal also.

Here are a couple of artsy fartsy pictures of the results
