8v to 8p stalks retrofit

hello, has anyone tried to put on the stalks from the a3 8v to a3 8p? I care about the appearance of the 8v shifters. I started to redo them and managed to put them together. I have a problem with connecting the cables

Did you check the signals are the same, as they may use a different protocol, let alone fitment.

I managed to switch the stalks from 8v and they work 95%. The upper button that switches the options in dis does not work.

Did you cut & join the stalks parts to allow fitment into the 8P column?

The base itself is from 8p, stalks from 8v, this item fits almost pług N play.

Left stalk and cruise control match 100% pnp.

But I still don't know why the fis option scroll up button doesn't work

The stalk has a plate and three cables. The old stalk also had three cables. Plus, minus and control. I tried to plug it in so that it worked. Perhaps the microswitch is broken

Tbh I'd plug the 8p stalks back in to check they work, then see.

Oh wow, that's criminally expensive for a DIY mod. The board isn't even isolated with heatshrink and the wires aren't taped with fire retardant tape. Such a mod shouldn't cost more than 20 euro with the parts shown in the picture.

I have to disagree, for what it does, its a fair price.

Just because the parts maybe cheap, who pays for the time to build the unit, testing,the research & development.

Its really quite frustrating, when people just seem to think all these other elements are of no cost, time is money & the sellers time & effort has to be allowed for.

As for the build quality, it looks good, if it bothers anyone, takes seconds to put electrical tape around & the wires dont need fire retardant tape, the wire covering will already protect & if you have a fire in the steering wheel area, that module is your last concern tbh.

I truly believe it's a fair price for what he's selling, good for him.

Check the resistors on the PCB. If many buttons are using a few wires, chances are there are a few resistors, with the module detecting which button was pressed based on the resistance. The button that isn't working probably has a different value resistor than the 8P one
