So I took it for a test drive using the posted steps and it doesn't quite appear to work consistently. It reported the speed limit as 30 but the sign said 35. It then gave the restricted function error again. Then it seemed fixated on 30 as I changed to a street that was 25.

Well I have a question slighty the same as BPRS3 : on my SQ7 (end-2016) I do not have

A5 >> Frt Sens Drv Assist >> byte 1 >> bit 0 to FTE
BUT
A5 >> Frt Sens Drv Assist >> byte 16 >> bit 4 "VZE" that I tried to put to 1, no luck on this

My steps were :

5F > Adaptation > ENG122229-ENG117754-Car_Function_List_BAP_Gen2-traffic_sign_recognition_0x21
Activated
5F > Adaptation > ENG122229-ENG117636-Car_Function_Adaptations_Gen2-menu_display_road_sign_identification
Activated

Have you flashed / updated your A5 with the needed software?

Well, you pointed out the problem ... do you have any idea where I can find the "updated" software for A5 ?

My A5 is a 4M0 907 217 D / BVS H14 0042 ...

And moreover, I was not able to "code" byte 1 bit 0 to 1 (even with LCode 2) I am not sure I am doing this well ...

Not something you can “find” unfortunately. You would require specialist software like VCP-System. Better to visit someone like myself I would have thought.
 
Ouch, will need to find someone in France ... well ok, thanks, I think I am almost done with coding apparently I am stuck in a software update issue.
Do you know how I can "check" my current exact software release/content ?
I am using VCDS 20.12.0.1 with (of course) an original cable.

It’s not a software version, ie operating system type update which you need, you need the layer that sits between the operating system and your coding / adaptation which is not visible to VCDS caped parameters. “We” just call this a software update, or flash.

I am surprised by the fact that traffic-sign-recog can be "enabled" by on-demand functions with Audi Connect subscription ... so that's why I am surprised that "software" can be remotely modified ...

Not for your vehicle. You have a 2016 Q7 4M. Over the air / on demand purchases are for the 2020+ vehicles with newer systems. Think you might be getting GPS database based speed sign display confused with traffic sign recognition.

So I have display of the function, but stuck with "not available" status ... until I can "update" the A5 module ...

I read some times that this needs couple of kilometers to work.

Well, very busy day ... was out a couple of miutes, neither accelerometer nor engine statistics were working ... I suppose I need to find out the appropriate adaptation. SQ7 should have like TT or RS the good sensors for that ...

You won’t get it working as 1) you need the sensors and 2) your ECU map needs to have the features on also.
 
I crawled into some documents and did not find any "documentation" on this.
What "sensors" are we talking about ? (for accelerometer ?)
And regarding Engine Control Unit map for engine statistics feature ... is this something feasible or is this only for some RS / TT models ?

They are incorporated in to the ABS and Airbag control modules

I will investigate what I can do with ABS and Airbags modules to check if something is possible within ...
Did you have any try with this with your SQ5 ?

I already knew it would not work in a stock configuration, and For it to work on mine I would need to edit my ECU map, something I am not willing to do on a car that has only just done 500miles lol

But I did not find anything within the Airbag module ... anyone with a TT / RS that could have a look at the adaptation channels ?
 
Well I found something interesting : Dynamometer channel adaptation exists in 5F and 01

I believe that disconnects the rear differential so that you can dyno the car.

i have upgraded my a3 saloon from a 2015 to a 2019 facelift. i have done all my usual vcds mods just can not get Rain closing to work or mirror dip in reverse could any one help?

Mirror dip won’t work as you now need folding mirrors.
 
Hi

I have a query regarding A3 8V PFL Sportback ambient lighting.

I have ambient lights active in car including doors and can control them through MMI under Background light> Door, Front and Footwell. At the moment they seem to work in dark ( with light sensor), also when I open any door or if I turn lights on using light switch.

Is it possible to have them turn on with light sensor (Auto) and through light switch but not with door opening/closing during the day.

I can post AutoScan if needed.

Well, had not lot of time to continue my work on this ... but I finally took some time to buy VCP, and I was able to change the A5 parameters to AEB ON / VZE ON ... and it is working very well :)
Also, I was waiting for VCP to try an upgrade to K3346, and I was right.
I read in the German forums that, in some "rare" cases, when you upgrade to K3346 even if you "unchekck" the Bose upgrade subsystem, system is updated (it was my case ... https://forums.audipassion.com/topic/232900-sauvetage-bose-après-plantage-mise-à-jour-k3346/) ... and it crashes.
The only way to recover is a ZDC upload ...
So once again, @DJAlix, thanks !

Quick update on that topic @DJAlix, I think it is harder than expected, I did not find anything in the ABS or Airbag modules.
However, I read a topic about the "Rainbow" module : https://fr.aliexpress.com/item/1005...earchweb0_0,searchweb201602_,searchweb201603_
The Rainbow module is, as per my understanding, a module that reads engine datas and write them to the bus in a format that is readable by the dashboard ...
Anyone that has installed that one ?

Hi All

Anyone with better understanding of the light channels? I have managed to adapt light channels that link to ambient, Footwell and cupHolder pins and managed to change their behaviour.

Anyway my query is regarding free light channels. I checked through BCM and light channels through vagcom. I have pin 34, 35, 36, 37 and 61 in T73c that are free. The pins have functions as Ambient 1/2/3/4 etc but no load type. I tried to power up the pins, and I did manage to do that but somehow I would end up with light fault on DIS and i noticed the button/switch lights on doors don't turn on. Everything else would work fine. I tried with every free pin but it caused same fault/issue and changing channel function on those pins would not make any difference. So i realized that I cannot use these spare channels for now but interesting that powering any of those pins disrupts the door switches lights.
Has anyone had any luck with these free light channels?
Anyone know if there are any light channels for door lights?

For anyone wanting to disable the key fob boot/trunk release:
“09-Cent. Elect.”
“Security Access”, enter code 31347 and click the “Do It!”
“Adaptation”, Click on the “Channel” selector drop-down menu then select “... Access control-Direkter Auswurf des Heckdeckels”.

The “Stored Value” should read “active”. select “New Value” “not Active”. Select the “Do It!” button.

Click on the “Yes” button to confirm the changes.

About acoustic lock if it doesn't work to someone just go to
(9)Acknowledgement signals-Akoustische Rueckmeldung Signalhorn and set it to active it should work then but I am disappointed cause it's very loud! Does anyone know if I can adjust the intensity somehow?

Try adjusting the horn duration to short (kurz) under:
(9) Acknowledgement signals-Dauer der akustischen Rückmeldung vom Einfachhorn
