Hi all, after searching at length I've not succeeded in finding any freely downloadable workshop/repair manuals for the 8V A3. I need to replace the air con condenser and I'm looking to find out how involved it is to weigh up the the time vs cost of doing it myself. Has anyone got any links to the relevant workshop manual, or first hand experience of whats involved in the condenser replacement (gas already gone so no concerns in that respect). Cheers!

YouTube will give you a good idea of what's involved - front bumper off, disconnect light washers, etc. Don't know if there's any specialist tools required for the condenser.
Am interested to know how you get on.

You can sign up for ERWIN AUDI for an hour, about £6, then just download everything related to your car for future reference.
You can also enter your VIN and it will give a complete breakdown of options and when the production date was.

Hardest part will be the front bumper removal but after that the condenser will be straight forward. I replaced an Astra mk6 condenser a few months ago on my sisters car and with no knowledge of the vehicle it was an easy front bumper off, condenser off and reverse. Took me 1.5h in total and I was taking my time being extra careful. I'll have a poke around and see what info I can find for you.

Thanks gents that's all really helpful, useful to know that it's not a case of coming at it from the engine bay. I'll do a search on youtube and check out the erWin system

@Sport190 I've dropped you a PM with some useful pdf docs regarding the condenser replacement. From what I could see & as I said the hardest part looks to be the front bumper removal but otherwise easy enough diy replacement of your methodical.

you have 2 bolts each side for bumper. the pass side is a bit of aghh as the washer bottle is on the way. When you put it back try to turn gently .I managed to cross tread the clip nut.

Hello, on a Audi A3 8V 1.8 TSI the A.C don't work and the error is B10AB f0 refrigerant pressure to low.I guess is the A.C condensor.
@Harvey @Sport190 can you help me please with some advices or documentations for replacing the condensor?
Thank you!!

@aysmen see attached for 8V condenser work. I'd strongly recommend you get your system professionally pressure tested to confirm where any leaks are prior to replacing anything. Most reputable places will offer this service for a nominal fee.
