Hi All,

Looking for some advice thinking of adding a 2018 A3 e-tron to my collection (help save on the killer fuel bills which is my R)

My usual specialist Central Audi VW in Brum said they do the hybrid servicing, which is a bonus, saves taking to the dealers :icon thumright: But my question is have many people had issues with the electric battery....thinking long term when I sell if this will effects the resale value?

If you search for my username @jrumball in this forum and the A3 8v forum you will see all the issues I’ve had over about 40k miles .

Long story short car is amazing, really interesting car . The Audi service and support is more than useless unfortunately. There is a very small selection of Dealers who can work on the car and most are very inexperienced with them all repairs have to go through Audi Germany which just adds to the problems ..... Audi does not have the support in place for the App control either it has never work reliably in the 2 years I have owned the car and the pre conditioning is an important part of making a PHEV efficient.... You will never get the full electric range and if you cant charge at home or work it is a pointless choice .

This is my current experience

I also post on this forum where there is a lot of info too.

Lots of people are very happy with them, but I think now you can get something a lot better for your money the technology is changing so fast

Thanks for the indo and links jrumball. I was looking to go down buying out right ex demo/used route. Hence my asking about the resale value been effected. Either that or getting brand new on a lease.

I would still look at other options the closest match is the A Class 250e the lexus Hybrids from the UX up are also very good . I just honestly would not trust VAG with a car like this . Do a search for all the problems they aee having with the software on the ID series of cars, they are really struggling with these drivetrains.

PM me if you want to have a chat

I've always stuck with the VAG band. Had the A class on a rental whilst the Golf R was getting repaired and hated it. Can I ask how old is your etron?
