A3 Quattro in tank pipes

Hello,

so basically can somebody give me pointers.... there's the pump on the drivers side and the sender on the passenger side then there's the two pipes, the small one of these goes across to the pump but does the other thicker pipe sit on the bottom in the passenger side of the tank or go back to the drivers side too?
