Evening all, I'm not really up on the B8 chassis as I'm still very well into my B7 2.0 TFSI Quattro special edition.

But, I've always fancied a Dynamik. The wife wants something that doesn't scare her half to death so the B7's out of the question (BT Forged S3 engine) plus it's mine and I like my wheels

I know it's just the newer version but what is the difference? Engine code etc?
Do they suffer from the same issues the earlier TFSI suffers from? Timing chain, pick up pipe, oil pump failure and what not?

She also wants an S1 but it's not really practical with the dog and also we would like something future proof.

An S4 would be an option but I'll end up playing with it. I'm trying to illiminate myself from the car all together, if possible lol!

Any help would be great. Thanks in advance

Craig, if your trying to illuminate yourself from the wife's car don't get her an Audi, you know you won't be able to resist the temptation to get in about it. ;)

It's funny you should say,
I've just been told by the wife that I won't be able to leave it alone. She probably has a point and she knows me better than anyone lol!

The Dynamik's are strong money aswell!
You could buy a nice S4 for that price, so I'm already considering an S4.

I can't really buy her anything else as I specialise in Audi's for a living with my business, so I couldn't really go anywhere else unless it was in the vag group.

Inside though the dynamik is only an SE.....the S4 though...stage 2 hubba hubba ;)
Yeah I've just found that out aswell. It would need to be atleast S line spec as I just prefer the full package etc.

I did always say Id go for an S4 next. Plus like you say, stage 2 lol!

See this is what happens to me! It only takes someone to plant the seed

It may be based on SE however it is better than S-line spec.

Both are great cars IMO, think you should maybe give the wife a say in this Craig, keep the peace and all that. ;)

I've just done that mate, told her she's better off in an S4, haha! I think deep down she wanted one anyway.

I do like the Dynamik though, but strong money. S4 money, I just can't look past that.

What are the manuals like to find?

Of course she wanted the S4, she was only making you think you had a say in it, lol.
Can't comment much on the availability Craig, but no doubt you'll wait to find a good one, and remember, it's your wife's car, just don't tell if you modify it. ;)

Stage 2 she'll never know if done straight away, as no obvious signs, no need for exhaust upgrades etc ;)

Manuals are more rare, your preference or hers?
Could always have switchable maps, his and hers. I want her to drive a manual otherwise she may get lazy and never want a manual ever again. In which case my life would be over. I do preference a manual in all honesty haha

I think she already knows my plans. She knew what she we'd letting herself in for when she married me

I'll just take it to the unit once a month and add something new to it... I mean polish it.

S4 all the way. I'm not a fan of the dynamic kit.

Get her a 2.0T s-line and spend a bit making it look unique. You can pick them up cheap now.

Tbh Jamie, I'm ***** for spending a load of money making it look nice etc, I've been there with the B7. I'd like something that's near enough done as standard and then I can just do the subtle things to make it unique.

I think the S4 is looking the most likely choice, although I like the look of the Dynamik and also like the fact you very rarely see them on the road.
I just don't like the price, its S4 money so why go any different.

Sprint blue S4 looks like the winner in all this. Just need to find a good one now.

Any issues with the S4 then chaps?

I must say I'm a fan of the auto stuck in traffic a lot of the time, but when on twistys, stick it in manual get all flappy on it and hold on tight :)
They are much easier to find in auto which is a bonus, also fortunately Audi make a dam good auto box which is very quick at changing, so it wouldn't be the end of the world if we had to choose the S Tronic.
Any differences performance wise between the 8 and the 8.5? Or is it just the facelift?

I've got a problem really. When I start playing with cars I just can't stop.

This is what happened to mine, can see the S4 getting the same treatment
