Thanks for the input. I was hoping to get £8,000. I have spent a few quid over the years keeping it in top condition which dosnt come cheaply with Audi!! I appreciate it's money you never really get back when selling a car though.
It seems fairly rare in terms of the Engine/Specification So I have been struggling to find cars to compare it to price wise!
I have not decided on my next car yet. I plan on getting a newer Audi but I don't want to rush in to anything.
Nothing wrong with starting at 8k and see for a month But realistically to get is shifted it’s prob gonna be 7 or less
I think the 2.0tdi Qs hold their price the best and seem to sell quickly if nice spec and colour.
Interestingly I was considering a very similar 3.2 v6 fsi S-line Quattro avant 2 years ago before I got my current 2.0tfsi .
Was a 2010 with 115k on it but part service history. Dealer reduced price from £6300 to £5500 over the space of a month , reckon I could of got it for closer to 5k.
And it isn’t like dealers to reduce ‘rare’ cars that quickly unless they get a sense it’s not going to shift quickly. So maybe that says something..
As nice are they are and sound , it isn’t an S4 - 100bhp less and 20mpg and high insurance . Definitely and oddity in the engine line up.
And fuel costs rulled it out for me, saying that I regularly only get 25mpg in my tfsi , so god knows what I would of actually got in that .. maybe 15mpg!
However it would be a nice smiles for miles car if you don’t do many miles, or S4 insurance is too high for someone and they like a v6 sound.
Private used market is tricky , I see a lot of Audi’s on autotrader etc asking for not much below what dealers are advertising theirs for which is daft, and have had experience when you try to explain what true private sale price is they don’t want to listen, and some say what they’ve spent on it etc.
You expect a car to be maintained well to be worth is market value, Some need more some less and that sometimes donesnt come cheap to the owner of an Audi! But don’t expect to recoup that in your sale price , just wear n rear and life.
-unless you’ve put on new suspension or an exhaust because you wanted an upgrade , then you can justify asking more . But then that puts off a lot of buyers..
And to part ex , you’d probably only get offered 3-4K , can be brutal to hear sometimes.
Best of luck with it.
