Hello. I mostly lurk but need some advice.
My clutch has gone at 190k miles, and it needs the DMF, too.
Always use a local garage who are telling me that the flywheel needs to come from Audi as there’s not an aftermarket equivalent.
Cost of the flywheel and an aftermarket clutch is coming in at £2200. Labour time 4-5 hours.
It’s the flywheel that’s costing the £££ at £1030 + the dreaded.
Does the flywheel have to be OEM?

Audi use either Sachs or LUK Clutches with matching flywheel. They aren't interchangeable with each other so buy them as a pair.

Thanks. I looked on Eurocarparts and GSF and could buy the kits. However, the garage told me that once you put the engine number in it says it’s not compatible and I need an Audi DMF.

I don’t know. It’s a 2015 20. Avant SE Technik. The garage have the car and the V5 is Christ knows where.

Right. Had the clutch and DMF replaced. A few thousand miles later and it won’t go in to 2nd. What gives?

Jeez, that makes me far more relaxed about having a DSG transmission now! lol
