The standard intercooler is positioned behind nearside front fog light grill, which is closed off. Shouldn't this be opened up....? Similar to mk1 S3 fog light grills with twin intercoolers although they have wheel arch vents to increase air flow....

Closed off in the UK because, normally the temp in the UK is cooler than other countries and wetter. Obviously not the case at the moment. I removed mine on my 2.0 TFSI b8 as I modded the grills so they looked like rs4 front grill

Thanks. Upgraded ICs are usually positioned behind the center grill for increased airflow. So I'd assume a remap causes turbo to run hotter and it would help to increase airflow around the original IC, particularly as the Golf Rs and M140s have open fog lamp grills....
