A6 avant MMI upgrade

I’ve recently just brought a 2012 A6 avant which currently has the rmc system fitted and went to see Audi about getting the latest maps but they want £300.
I was wondering if anyone has upgraded from the rmc unit to the 3g+

Not cheap. I looked into it when I had a 2013 c7 and the costs were around £2-3k for new MMI unit and new pop up screen then it all needs coded/activated. That didn’t include the replacement clocks with the colour dis.
I ended up trading it in for a facelift with tech pack.
maybe one of those CarPlay boxes from eBay/aliexpress will be a cheaper option.

I've been searching around for answers for a few weeks and someone has recommended through a Facebook group a guy called Pawel Tylkowski based in Newark his company is called VAG diesel performance specialist / VAGtune he has quoted me £125 for the update and also to replace my damaged GPS antenna. You can Google him or find him on Facebook. He tells me he uses genuine audi sd card for the update. I'll put an update on once I've been to see him on Saturday

I don’t think for that money it will be official map update. These can only be done by VAG authorised dealers/repairers and normally £250+ as it’s activated to your car.

Audi SD card map updates have now been hacked so find the right people or do some research and it can be done a lot cheaper.

Hi there I'm in the same place as you with the rmc system to you, I also have looked everywhere and as said above factory upgrade is just to expensive I have come across this android 10.25 fix screen and the more I look into it the more I am tempted but I haven't bit the bullet yet and ordered one,

I've not seen these will have to have a Google.
I was looking at this similar price and works with current screen already in.

You will most likely find that on aliexpress for a lot less than that.

Yeah I had a bit of research into the one they have available and a lot of people say they have glitches with them. The one I posted above is the one to get apparently

Most if not all come from aliexpress. There’s so much variety so it’s a case of finding the good ones

Hi just an update on getting my maps updated.
Very successful, went to see Pawel Tylkowski from VAG TUNE in Newark. Brilliant guy he installed a new gps antenna as mine was picking up no satellites and also updated my maps to 2021 using a new sd card activated to my car. He also coded my passenger reverse mirror, boot close on smart key, beeb when locking, needle swipe, start/stop, and DRL control.
All for £120
Brilliant I'm really pleased.
