A6 Avant oil cooler water hose failure

A6 Avant oil cooler water hose failure.
well this is a tight fit, so does anyone know how to remove/replace the water lines connecting the oil cooler? I can see the parts with the oil filter removed, but my hands just can't get there, so ideas on disassembly are welcome!

Remove screw for coolant tank, undo the level sensor on the bottom of the tank, move it to the front of the car out of the way.
Use water pump pliers, clamp and slide spring clips along the hose, then grip the hose and turn it as if you were tightening and slackening a nut. This should break the grip between cooler and hose, it should come off now.
