A8 D3 Rear Bumper

Anyone know how to remove the rear bumper on a A8?

Removing bumper cover

– Unscrew bolts from underside of cover -arrows-.
A63-0166
– Unscrew hexagon bolts -arrows- from wheel housing liner -1-.
A63-0167
– A further nut -1- on each side has to be unscrewed on inside of side panel.
– Release fastening strip in side panels (left and right) → Chapter and pull cover slightly off vehicle to rear.
– Right fastening strip is released by turning clockwise; left strip by turning anti-clockwise.
– Unplug all connectors to electrical components and detach cover.
WARNING
Always ensure compliance with torque of 1 Nm on installation.
Worm gear of fastening strip will otherwise be damaged, thus considerably impeding bumper removal.

Cover grommets
– Before fitting cover, check that round grommets -1- and oval grommets -2- have been pressed into side panel as shown.

What are you doing with it?

You can just make out a cable going from the left rear vent and cross the top of the bumper/Tow bar.

I was trying to work out what that was and had to take the bumper off.
Turned out it was the tracker's aerial.
