ACC sensor fault - moved

Hey all,

long story short - new IC sensor is moved and now ACC won’t work.
Is there a way to readjust it and reset it at home via VCDS?

I went into the Vcds cleared codes ect- but then I went into module 13 and tried to reset the 4 options in there.
Though I ended up getting this yellow light -




which is a distance fault.

I never had this fault prior to playing to Vcds and I can’t seem to clear the fault (yellow exlimation mark)

does anyone know how I maybe able to?
Is it a distance issue because I didn’t do it infront of a wall?

Note it wasn’t there prior to me dicking around - neither were those errors in the attached above - just the ACC standard error.

For bonus points ideas on how to get the ACC to work without a dealer... haha but I might just get the dealer to do it.

The above is the new error I see (which has brought up the yellow exclamation mark!

Compared to the Full auto scan above (as the car is tuned I get the lean issue - but it clears when reset).

As I said the above is new since Iwas looking at some options in module 13
 
Bit sketchy with the 1st post.

So all I can glean from it is

You’ve fitted a new IC and the ACC sensor isn’t quite right upon reassembly of the bumper ?

It can be a fraction out and bring up an error so you’ll need a recalibration at a dealer that can actually do it.

VCDS or alike won’t help you at all.

Depends on how far out it is

You could spend ages and still not have it in the correct position.

VCDS will not help to clear the fault.

There’s a procedure and a special board needed for calibration.

When I retrofitted the ACC to my SQ5, I manually calibrated the sensor from the measuring blocks / basic settings in vcds. So yes you can with a bit of patience adjust the sensor.
You do need to drive for a few miles inbetween each adjustment to work out the turns on the screws, but 5 months on and it's still faultless.
When it goes out of sync, you also do need to reset it in basic settings, clearing fault codes won't reset it iirc

Convince feature as well as safety system. For the sake of yourself and others get it calibrated correctly:

The dealer will see the error on the VC though straight away and know somethings amiss....

If they spot the IC then they'll be reluctant to do anything for free/under warranty.

There is every chance that they might complete the calibration as part of other works, give a trainee tech some experience or something, but the kit needed costs a lot and not every dealership has it, so I would not count on it if they need to sub the work out.

Important thing to remember here is that the vehicles safety systems also use this sensor so it would be a good idea, both for yourself and others, to make sure the works are done correctly for piece of mind.
