Advice please, regarding Audi lease finish + marginal tread depth!

Hi

My Audi A5 lease expires in the next week. I've checked the tyre tread depth and it's EXTREMELY marginal, probably at the point you could argue either way.

Question is, how strict will BCA be on collection, if it's that close, are they likely to try and penalise any way possible? It's a tricky decision whether to get two new tyres fitted just in case, though obviously would prefer not to pay unnecessarily.

I think if they are that close BCA will be out with the depth gauge. Might be worth checking ebay for some part worns, be cheaper than penalty from lease company.
