Hi guys,

Was looking at a thread and these brighter bulbs:

http://www.powerbulbs.com/product_detail.asp?prod=81

Are they a direct replcement for A3 2007 ? is it H7 on the 2007 models ?
and, how tricky are they to fit ? I popped the back off the light cluster inside the engine bay and it looks a bit tight ! no room at all, or do you have to remove items to get enough room to fit these ?

Also, anyone fitted these and are they happy with the results ?

Many thanks.

Yes the current A3 uses H7 bulbs in both the main and the dip units.

Once the covers are off, the bulbs can be a bit difficult to get out but it can be done. If you can get help someone with small hands it is a little easier. Unclip the retaining wires.

One think I've found that does help - leave the wires on the existing bulb when you take it out. Remove the bulb from the plastic connector and replace it with the new bulb and then put it back in the holder. That way it's easier to re-locate the replacement bulb in the correct orientation in the holder.

Thanks for the info.

One strange thing, the part numbers on that site for the H7's for the Dipped and Main Beams are the same ?

Do they use the same bulb ? one for dipped and one for main beam ? Is it just down to the covers/lenses that shine the light in a different way ?

I was expecting a higher wattage bulb for the main beam bulb ...

??
