Air Con

Can someone help me!
I have a problem with my Air con.
No cold air.
Yes did have it re gassed but to no avail.
I was told that it was the air con compressor.
So before I ordered the part, I got it checked by an Audi main dealer.
I asked them to explain what does the diagnostic check do?
They said pin point the fault.
So I said OK, £110 for the hour!
Well they came back said it was a broken plug behind the pump.
The part cost £2.42, audi wanted £440 to fit. However they could not guarantee that it will solve the problem!
So how many times to I have to go through checks before the problem is found? Audi could not answer.
No with all the heat this summer and no Air con, god knows how I have survived that.

So someone told me about warrantyworks.co.uk. Rang them fine for £144 pounds everything is covered. So rang another Audi garage and asked them if they deal with external warranties.......?
There answer was no, only with Audi warranties.

So can someone help me with my problem please........... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I live in the essex area.
Audi A4 1.9 TDI 130Bhp.

I believe that the Audi dealer is breaking the law by refusing to deal with your warrnaty company. There was some publicity about this a couple of years ago.

Unfortunately dealers seem to all work this way now. We had a problem with our Bora and it took three attempts and three difference parts to fix.

Try another dealer or go to an independent A/C specialist

Have tried another Audi dealer they are all the same!

Even the independent A/C spec. are the same.

I think I am better off P/EX the car.

Any Offers?

The air con works, but no cold air.
Audi told me I need to fit a plug first of all. Like I said the plug costs £2ish.
£446 to fit it!

Audi know sweet FA about aircon, go to an A/C specialist.
My dealer regassed my car 3 times (with dye) and said they still couldn't find the leak.
AC specialist found it first time and fixed it, and only £45/hour (instead of £80/hour for an Audi monkey to replace the whole system part by part until the problem goes away).

Where did you goto then?
Anywhere in essex?

Would they be able to find the fault?
That is the problem I am having!

Just do a search on yell.com, the place I went to was recommended by the independent VAG specialist I use for servicing in Southampton (so no good to you, sorry)
