Guys

When I have my AC on, its noisy. I am assuming a pump or bearing or fan is failing so it needs replaced.

My mechanic contacted TPS for a replacement pump quote and its in the region of £800+vat :O

Been doing my own research and I cannot find anywhere that is selling specifically a "pump" for anywhere near that money

All I seem to find are compressors and some sites say they are also the pump!

Can anyone clarify?

Part numbers I have found are:
  • 5Q0820803K
  • 5Q0816803D
Thanks

Whether you call it a pump or a compressor it’s the same animal.

If you need a replacement there are lots of specialists who will sell you a new or reconditioned part for a lot less than £800. E.g. Automotive Compressor (www.automotivecompressor.co.uk) can supply a new OEM part for around £250. Others may be cheaper still.

I have a brand new OEM unit 5QD820803C, I ordered for mine but turned out just low on lubricant oil... £200 shipped to you if you're interested. It's a Sanden unit and made in china though.
