Air Filter for my A3 1.8 sport (non turbo)

Can anyone reccomend one? I dont want it sounding like a boy racer, but a little more grunt than normal would be nice.

Basically there has been some reports of oil impregnated filters damaging the sensor that measures air flow into the engine and decides how much fuel to pump in (the MAF). These cost £75 a pop to replace on an exchange basis.

As Cbass says the OE filter is supposed to be pretty good.

You'll notice nothing with a filter replacement on your car, and as stated the standard filter is pretty good. A change in air filter is only worth it in combination with other mods especially on a NA engine.
