Hi,

I have just had the audio upgraded in my 2004 A3 TDI Sport. The Concert unit has been replaced by a Alpine CDA9857R head unit. The problem I have is the radio reception is extremely poor. I have read about the powered amp antenna that needs to be plugged in but just need some confirmation on what to buy.

From CarAudioDirect website I ordered the Fakra Aerial Adapter

However most posts on this forum recommend the Seat Arosa (Sep 1997 on) MAY-E118

Which adaptor should I have bought?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Teg

They're essentially the same just with different connectors. So if the FAkra one plugged in OK then it's the right one. Did you connect the flying lead to the power antenna connection on the Alpine to power the aerial?
