alternator removal

Hi, does anybody know how to remove the alternator from a B8 2.0 tdi (CAGA) please? Like everything else it doesn't appear to be obvious! Many thanks.

These rarely go wrong - if you just want to change the pulley that normally can be done without taking it out.

Its held in by 3 bolts. The 2 obvious ones at the top and one which is at the bottom. you will need an extension on your ratchet to get to it as its un-bolted from the back.
