So, over the last couple weeks I’ve been finding that my alarm has been randomly going off after I’ve parked my car at the house. In all different conditions. So far after one or two times of the sirens going off and some lock/unlock action it sorted itself out.

Today it will not lock without the alarm going off. Just siren, no indicator flashing and nothing coming up on the Connect app saying the alarm has been activated... I’ve tried locking it with both keys, boot button, tabs on the door and through the app as well and none of them work for allowing the car to be locked but the alarm not go off.

I’ve also tried pressing the lock button twice to deactivate the internal sensors in case there was a bug flying around in there or something, but that didn’t work either.

Currently I’m out of ideas and since there’s not much wind and the weather is fair (as in, there’s no rain to cause issues like has happened in the past), I’ve called Audi breakdown because I’m not leaving my car unlocked all night.

I don’t know if anyone has any ideas on what it could be apart from sensors and things I can’t sort myself?

The onky thing I have had is the indicators going off, as if the alarm had been set off but no sounder, in heavy rain. But I believe there is a thread somewhere in AudiWorld...

Thanks for that.

The AA man interrogated everything and it was coming up with multiple intermittent faults with the G3-something-something-something module which is the alarm/immobiliser brain.

He reset the module and updated the software to the most recent version (although couldn’t say if it was newer than what was currently installed) and so far it appears to have fixed things. He did say that if the flashers aren’t going but the siren was, it could be a hardware fault with the controller and just to book it in with Audi if it happens again.

For now it’s working though...

I didn't realise that the AA carried firmware updates...

It was one of the specialist VAG AA vans, they have different software than standard AA vans. But I agree, I was surprised he was able to sort firmware/software.

I’ve got this exact issue. Pain in the **** - I won’t leave it unlocked either

You can lock it with the actual key in the drivers door without activating the alarm. That way it’s not left unsecured but you don’t **** off everyone around you. Haha
