In what I understand it is popular used on 1,8T engines as the fancy turbular ones crack.

I have a chinafold from Frankenturbo on miself. Not any trouble yet even after having it strong orange glowing a few times.

As far as I am aware they have yeah... they seemed to cause misfires (have seen this on a car myself) so would appear they were more trouble than it was worth but others (Bill included) got over this by porting them..

Out the box they don't really work... port the collector and its a different thing altogether...
