Anybody have a 3.7 V8 A8????

i have the for-runner to the A8 - the V8 quattro, it has the 3.7 V8 and I have a few questions,

1) Is the engine 2 Mk2 golf 1.8 GTi engines stuck together or is it Audi`s own engine?

2) What sort of MPG are you getting from it?

3) Does yours have dizzy caps?

1 = I think that Audi moved on from that.

2 = 15mpg. We trundle to Tesco's-n-back in it. Can get 24-34mpg on the motorways. Have been known to coax 40mpg @ about 50-55mph, but thats not an average....Just get a 4.2 and be done wi'it!

3 = WHF (are you talkin'bout hub caps?)

Cheers for that, dizzy caps hold the rotor arms which is the old way of getting the spark to the spark plug at the right time, now its done electroniclly with electronic ignition.........

Oh! In that case no. It has a coil for each sparkplug?
