so the golf r32 1s are a straight swap how much do they cost?
i have been quoted 480 pound labour to do front and rear arb's with the rear bushes does that seem right and £330 for front and rear arb's
Ess what ARB's you go for and how did it effect the balance of your car.
I ran R32 ARB`s on std suspension for a while and it felt ok, it felt strange when only the rear one was done as I did them in stages
Yeah I know what you mean about the same manufacturer for front and rear, I guess it may depend on budget as Whiteline front and R32 rear would be about £250 but Neuspeed front and rear would be £390.
The weitec ARB kit (I guess you mean this one?) might be a good choice at £330, but not sure about 25mm and 22mm, the adivce from ChriS3 and Ess is not to go that thick... "25mm ARB if you like hedgerows and fields" (ChriS3)... "25mm front ARB...what's that all about! Understeer city!" (Ess_Three)
How would you describe the changes, do you think the R32 set up is a good choice. Are you still on std shocks.
Yeah, they're the ones I'm thinking of, together with the Weitec coilovers - just to be a bit different.
Fair play to ya. Like you say, the front to rear ratio should be ok. There isn't much opportunity to try something different these days as everyone has tried everything.
I'm going to go for a Whiteline 22mm Front ARB and the R32 rear ARB with the Weitec 20mm/15mm Ultra GT kit and Forge tie bars, mainly because I want a better than standard car on a budget and I don't drive hard at all.
Not sure if anyone has this setup, hopefully I'm the first!
just the rear and it took all the waivey tip like fealing out of the rear but was easy to overstear and felt uneasy at speed switching lanes on the motorway. Front and rear felt a little like std but a lot less body roll.
then I uprated the suspension to billy and H&R`s and it feels
