My s3 is coming upto 3 years old in January, so will need a service and a mot,any ideas on price at the main dealers for my 3rd year service

They just invent a ridiculous figure to rip you off.
I would be getting a price from a range of places so you can try and get an affordable price.

In the region of £700 my second service they wanted £400 got in down £350 ....

Varies from dealer to dealer, region to region. Why don't your ring the dealer and ask? Make sure you're sitting down though! My dealer wanted £500 for first service on my S5, indy is doing it for £150.

Only just remember this, will be ringing 2moro but thiught i would ask for the whock to settle in lol

Three years means you also should have the brake fluid replaced. Just had my three years service done and I wasn't charged for the fluid change or the MOT. Plus I have been only paying on a service plan at £9.56 a month.
Not all dealership's are thieves or try to rip you off..

Mine is coming up to 3 years and I’ve been told I need a Quattro system oil change also .

Hi mate, as an idea Cheshire Oaks wanted £421 for my second service! Took it to Martin at Unit20 near Neston £198 for exactly the same thing. He also gives you a paper copy of the service record showing the vin, what service was done, when and the milage so that you can show the next buyer....he also updates it online.

Just go down there and look what cars he has in the workshop....it's all RS's, Gti's, S's, TT's with the odd Bentley and Aston Martin thrown in.

PS: I'm going back there next Wednesday to have 2 tyres put on, he came out cheaper than a lot of places!

May give them a call them a call then, gotta get intouch with audi for a quote but reckon wit will be to high,do unit20 also do mot as it will need that aswell, how are audi on serviceing elsewere whilst your car is on pcp as im still on that for another year yet

Can take it elsewhere. Mines on PCP, Audi will likely give you less on hand in as not FASH, however as long as genuine parts etc are used, you'll be absolutely fine for warranty and PCP.

Try Martin mate, he can do the MOT as well....if you want fire me a pm with your details, reg and miles and I'll ask him on wednesday, he's in Japan at the moment for the rugby tomorrow :)
As for servicing in pcp, mine is pcp and it's not a problem, he does everything that should be done, he's approved and he uses genuine Audi parts. I even contacted Audi finance and asked the question...this is the answer:

Good afternoon Mr X

Thank you for contacting Audi Financial Services.

In regards to having your vehicle serviced, the servicing does not need to take place at an Audi garage, we would always recommend using an Audi approved garage and genuine Audi approved parts are required.

If Audi approved parts are used this should not result in additional charges when handing the vehicle back.

Should you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us.

I booked in a few weeks back for the service, he asked if I needed a car, I said I'd bring it in early and wait, just over an hour later I was on my way out all done :)

Takes an hour and it still costs a fortune!

Mine may take a bit longer as will be sorting the mot aswell
Yeah that's true, if you want and if you haven't heard back from him on Monday, let me know and I'll ask him on Wednesday. Like I say he's in Japan over the weekend, so he may be behind with quotes etc. I wouldn't leave my car with anyone I didn't trust, but I would trust these guys! Apparently they are big and have a excellent name on the RS forums as well!

Yeah but what can you do?!?! The joys of owning a car :(

Yeah does seem a bit daft, it's like having a bath and then putting dirty underwear back on :p When I was chatting with him the other day he did say that they do a lot of filter/liquid changes as standard that Audi don't do on their services! So it will be interesting to see what he says :)

I sent him a FB message, told him you'd contacted them and told him about Audi not doing the filter clean, this is his answer:

My car turns 3 year old in March so MOT time  also its due its 3rd year service can anybody give me a idea of what will
be replaced in this service also what are Audi main dealers charging these days :grimacing:

Depending on whether you run it on annual or long-life servicing, it’ll be due the MoT plus an oil change (+/- inspection) as the basic service. You will also probably be due brake fluid and Haldex oil.

A respected VAG independent would charge ~£350 if you have all that done. Trade prices for a car like an S3 aren’t really influenced by dealer history, so I prefer using a specialist where I know jobs like Haldex oil are done properly.

Oh, I can believe it. Last so called 'major' service I had at Audi was a rip off. The substantial extra cost gave me, as far as I can see, a pollen filter. The claim was 'All fluid levels checked'. Er, no, that's not exactly my understanding of 'all'. I queried afterwards - That included the gear box then? Straight into 'customer knows nothing' mode. 'Oh no sir' that's a 'sealed unit' . Rubbish it's not - it has level and drain plugs. All they checked were the items accessible with the hood open, which I do regularly. In addition I realised a day later they hadn't even pumped up the spare, despite 'ticking it off' on the paperwork they gave me. What else wasn't done? Complaint to Audi offered a discount on the spark plug change next time it goes in. Despite that, how likely do you think it is my car is into Audi next time?

My car is on a annual service plan just checked and it is a inspection service due in 80 days . Brake fluid change and air con /service re gas is definitely due to . My car as never had a Haldex service and its now on 24k  going to look at getting this done at a specialist as I want the filter cleaning .
