Hi,
Ive got a 94 tdi with 90k and i have a few problems i hope u can help me with:
1. the airbag light take a minute or so before it goes off.
2. noisy tappets....how easy are they to get fixed. The noise gets worse as the car warms up.
3. its only returning about 90-100 miles for £10 of diesel (@76p/ltr) around town...is that normal?

Sorry to say it sounds like a garage job for the tappets, they are hydraulic (sp?) on your model, and cant be re-shimmed, it sounds like they are not getting the req oil to function, and should be replaced, be quite sure that it is not a top end bearing going, it could sound similar.

I cant remember what mine did for £10 of diesel, but an average of 500 miles per tank and 600 on a long run.

Regarding the airbag light, mine used to go off after 10 seconds or so, but I guess you should be thankful that it is working at all! If you realy are worried you have two options, 1) remove bulb and dont crash car, 2) take car to audi garage and pay.
