Firstly, your VCDS cable is an old one and needs to be upgraded.

The current generation cable would give a better idea of the issue and whether it truly is a wiring issue as suggested.

You have an MIB1 high with Audi sound system, and by the looks of things you have one of the following issues:

1) faulty subwoofer
2) faulty wiring to the subwoofer
3) faulty connector at the back of your media unit
4) faulty connector on the sub woofer side

need someone to test continuity and check for a wiring issue.
