Audi A4 Moro Blue 2.0 TFSI Special Ed Progress Thread :-)

Good updates. I personally prefer the other alloys but at least you can swap. Perhaps make a winter and non winter set up.

Whilst taking of PCV pipes did you notice any sludge or blockages? Coming from BMW’s it’s been recommended to change !

Also be interested in seeing the DIY for coil packs and

whether you notice any difference in running with any of the work you do!

Quick question no any good body shops? Wondering if you have had the need ?

Enjoying the thread.

I know what you mean about the Avus alloys, they look good but not quite as good as the Le Mans. But my mind changes all the time about them .....not a bad problem to have though :grinning:

I had no sludge or blockages in my PCV pipes and I had already changes the PVC valve last year so all good.

Thanks, I'm glad you're enjoying the thread mate :icon thumright:

The removal of the coil packs is very simple and there are loads of videos on you tube if you need it, that's how I learnt and got a few tips and tricks too

All the work I've done has had an effect on the running of the car, either making it smoother running, more economical or restoring the lost power. All the little improvements add up to nicer car to drive and puts your mind at rest too.

If you haven't already get yourself VCDS, it will save you loads of time and money when doing these types of jobs, there is section dedicated to it on here ;)

I don't know where you are based, but I've only used one bodyshop and that's Merlin Bodycraft in Brackley Northamptonshire. Top class work and not too bad value either. They specialise in VAG group paintwork finishes (and all ther makes too). They have worked on a few of my last cars, Audi A3, Anni Golf GTI and my Skoda Oct II VRS.

Thank. I’m in Luton, so Northampton is doable.

Few questions -
Was their work spot on - any issues?

How long did you keep cars for after as issues often show up down the line?

Can you give an example of a job you did with them and cost ?

How you finding the copy DV+? Seen these before but been seeing more and more negative reviews of the genuine DV+ of late.

Having not fitted the genuine DV+, I can't really compare it to the Runtek version, however for £35 I can't complain. It's been great, no issues at all and feels good all the way to the red line. It all depends what you expect from it, I wasn't expecting a lot, but am happy with the way it performs. Plus I think it's less likely to break or leak, which is the main thing for me.

A bit of an update, that you may not like. After 3 A4's, it was time to move on to something different, so it was time to say goodbye to the SE :bye: I sold the A4 to another Audi enthusiast who will look after it.
The car that replaces it is a stunner though, an Alfa Romeo 159 2.4 JTDm TI :hubbahubba: its has 5 pots, 210 BHP and has 300ft Ibs of torque. Although it's a diesel, it sounds awesome under acceleration. it's no slouch and drives great. It's pretty rare too, which appeals to me.

You may agree, it is a beautiful looking car. I have always admired these and my Dad also has a 159 1.9 Lusso and after driving it, I had to have one. They say you're not a true petrolhead until you've owned an Alfa and as I am a true car enthusiast it was a no brainier. I may regret it but who cares!

I will still be around from time to time as I still love the forum. And you never know I may be back in an Audi again at some point.

But, it's ta ta for now

Cheers Rog
