Audi A6 C6 2.0TDIE Avant Rear Brake change

Hi
I need to change my rear brake pads and disc. I have read up about doing it via VCDS and I am pretty clear on the change procedure except for one thing. I have read conflicting articles and seen videos online, will I have to wind the piston in with a tool or will it just push back .My car is a 2009 face lift Audi A6 C6 2.0Tdie s line Avant.
Would appreciate any advice.

I had to wind mine back after retracting the electronic motors.

Depends which calipers are fitted, some are wind back, some a push in, mine were push in (I have the 330mm brakes on the back).

The main element is the EPB which needs to be put in service mode before doing anything.
