1) Are there different levels of service plan?

Bought S3 8V car in June, it came with an "Audi complete service plan" and i have docs to show this. I spoke to the local dealer who confirm this and also said that these are very rare and a big plus to receive with the vehicle.

Car due first MOT in Oct and service too, its done 30500 miles. I've just arranged appt with local dealer.

For this interval it needs:
Brake fluid @ £70
Haldex @ £99
MOT @ £50

2) Woman from service team basically told me nothing is covered by the service plan......... Is that correct, cos if so it begs the question what they hell are service plans for?

PS Service plan is valid until 2022 so I obviously am keen to take full advantage of everything this covers.

looking at it they have 3 different types so depends which is yours and what was specified when it was taken out
What’s included in the Audi Complete Service Plan?
We have three types of plan available:

  • Service only
  • Service and Maintenance
  • Service, Maintenance and Tyres

Don’t take it to your Audi dealer for the halved oil change, as that’s all they do.
Take it to an Indy dealer, who will remove pump and clean filter.

Trust me you can ask Audi to do this but won’t, so don’t bother asking.

Thanks, trying to find that out is like trying to shove my own head up my ****.

Just got off the phone to VWFS who 'own' service plans. First guy just hung up after I asked him to check again with his boss. Second woman i just go toff phone with was like a robot, she basically read to me the above and apparently I have 'Service, Maintenance and Tyres'. Then I asked what that covers and she couldn't tell me and told me to speak to dealer. Dealer tells me to speak to VWFS....

I asked her simply for the terms and conditions of the service plans and she said she couldn't give me that.

She did however say that the plan covers any normal wear and tear including the tyres. So with that in mind, how can standard service maintenance such as brake fluid and haldex oil that are requirements set in stone from the creation of the car not be considered part of wear and tear?

My car is booked in for its 3rd year service with 30,500 miles including the MOT its £250 l was expecting the 3rd service to more than double this figure...as the previous service was £380 ....ill live with the £250 as l plan only to keep the car for another 6 months more, in total over the 3 services its cost me just over £900

Your Haldex pump will hopefully thrown its hand in while its still under warranty..if it dosen't, and then it does after the warranty expires, you'll kick yourself not having it cleaned with the oil change.

What is that a picture of?

Thats the haldex pump, with its filter all gunged up, probably after less than 25k miles, that Audi won't clean. (because it means they get to sell pumps when they pack in)

So are you saying that the Haldex pump will fail if the filter is not cleaned? If that is the case - and by the case I mean there is evidence of this being necessary maintenance, then under the terms and conditions of the service plan i will argue that is necessary work under the terms of 'normal ware and tear'.

This is what i mean by use my service plan.

Warranty expires next month.

Haldex pump filter, removed to clean!

You’ll know if it’s blocked as you’ll have not drive to rear wheels when accelerating hard, front wheel will spin and traction light will flash!

Normally pump stops working so a clean and reset will fix it!
If your not so lucky new pump.

Yup, most of the time it does.

Good luck arguing that, many have tried and failed, but worth a punt if you are feeling like those hours and days and frustrations are worth parts of your time in this realm :)

I noticed my front wheels spinning slightly coming out of junctions. Had the haldex serviced and filter cleaned by indy and the problem went away. My filter/gauze wasn't that dirty but it certainly wasn't clean.

Go talk to the service manager at your local dealer (who told you it was a great thing) to see what’s included in their opinion. If nothing, take it elsewhere to an indie VAG specialist and pay a lot less than Audi will charge. Or indeed (unless it’s the same place) ask the folks where you bought it. I suspect that even if it was sold as new with a service plan it will have expired at 3 years, as will the warranty, so unless you’re getting it free from Audi don’t use them.

depending on what plan it is then some extend warranty to 5 years.
With Audi Complete, you can take care of your servicing, maintenance and tyres for the next three years.

We’ve developed Audi Complete to offer comprehensive care for your Audi. You pay a one-off or monthly fee and we’ll cover all your servicing, maintenance and tyres for the next three years. That includes everything from replacement parts to your first MOT, as well as a full 5-year warranty*.

I think you had best contact your local dealer with a print out of the link I posted as it clearly states you should only pay for things you can influence as in worn out clutch , worn brake pads etc.

It means you only have to pay for the things you can influence, like your fuel, insurance and your Road Fund Licence. Audi Complete will take care of everything else, and you can be reassured that your car will be maintained by trained Audi Technicians, using genuine Audi parts. So you won’t find yourself scribbling down prices in search of the best deals. Which makes Audi Complete something really rather noteworthy.

I have the dates on the Audi documents - 4 year fixed price complete service plan purchased 8 months after vehicle registered. Expires July 2022.

Thanks for this and posting the link, so far this is the best evidence I have.

If i get this work done by Audi for free and the work listed on the service record, I won't have any qualms subsequently going to dealer for anything that isn't covered.

I imagine servicing closed weekends, so I will ring on Monday and see what I can see.

I might even ring the dealer from the link you shared first, and see what they say impartially without any risk of come back on them as I am never going to visit them.

Just spotted on the second Audi doc that the car actually has MOT cover dated until 13/03/2021....

The fact Audi cannot tell me any of this, not the dealer nor VWFS when i contact them and i have to put so much effort in is a f***ing joke.

best to talk to someone in person , less liable to be fobbed off when you have the written terms in front of you.

Their CS has gone down hill drastically over the last few years.

1) For 2 weeks I have been trying to contact Audi extended warranty to ask a question, I've tried two different emails for them and still not heard anything back! (I know the answer but I want it in writing ;)).

2) I phoned an Audi dealership up just to 'see' what they quoted for my 3rd service. He tried to tell me that I'd missed the 2nd service last year, when I said I hadn't he said it wasn't showing on the Audi service record and the only way it would is if I used a main dealership for servicing, I told him I'd used an Indy and I was looking at it online on the Audi digital service schedule as we speak!!! Yet he still wouldn't have it :D I can see it on my phone yet he can't see it on the Audi computer system!!!

Phone

3) I've bought an S3 and A5 coupe from my local dealership since 2015, the deal ends next month and nobody has been in contact to try and sell me something else...yet they did send me an email this week saying would I like them to sort my MOT out?!?!?!

4) Same dealership in february I spoke to the sales manager, told him I wanted a Black edition TT and gave him all the spec, he said he would call me back...I'm still waiting! And they wonder why they aren't selling cars :D

*EDIT* In comparison I sent Audi Germany an email late on Sunday about some parts of my Audi Connect licence expiring next month. I received a reply at 07.20 Monday morning, I replied to that at 11.45 with the VIN that they required, they replied at 12.15 (30 mins later!!!) saying it was sorted and they would update the licence within 7-14 days. I received an email on Wednesday at 14.00 informing me that they had updated my licence free of charge and I was all set until 22-1-2022 :)

The end of the email made me smile :) "We wish you safe journeys in your Audi A5 and have a nice day."
